IESB is reporting that fans can expect the new trilogy after the entire saga is released in 3D which is expected to be complete around 2015 or 2016. Their source also claims the movies will not be prequels, but sequels. It's not for certain if they will be the long awaited Episodes 7, 8 and 9 but could instead be Episodes 10, 11 and 12.

Wired chimed in with a quote from Lucasfilm spokesman Josh Kushins:

New films or not, the live action Star Wars television series is currently in development, already has over 50 scripts ready to go and plenty of pre-production time and money spent on artwork and storyboards. Once that show goes into production, Lucasfilm hopes to be able to produce at least 100 episodes since that is the threshold for syndication in the United States.

Only time will tell about the reality of a new trilogy, but we gotta ask, does the idea of a new Star Wars trilogy get you exicted?

Darren Aronofsky has recently been linked to Preacher, X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 as well as Superman (which Zack Snyder is directing), but it looks like The Tiger might be the director's next project, reports The Playlist.

Screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga reveals that Darren Aronofsky and star/producer Brad Pitt will begin location scouting later this year.

The Tiger is based on John Vaillant's forthcoming non-fiction book about his experiences searching for a man-eating tiger in eastern Russia.

Brad Pitt's partner Angelina Jolie will co-star.

The Tiger comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Brad Pitt. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Executive producer Paul Lieberstein, who also plays Toby Flenderson on the show, revealed that Harvey Keitel is in serious contention for the role. Here's an excerpt from the site's article:

Fantastic Four comes to theaters March 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Josh Trank.

According to their sources, 20th Century Fox has been pursuing the trio as replacements for the parts of Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, who were previously portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba, respectively.

Alice Eve has also been rumored for the role of Sue Storm.

ComicBookMovie also adds that relatively unknown actor Kevin Pennington is being eyed for the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch, portrayed by Chris Evans in the original Fantastic Four.

Fantastic Four comes to theaters March 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Josh Trank.

We reported just last week that Reitman was on board to direct with Charlize Theron locked in as the female lead. The film would center on Theron's character, a recently-divorced writer who returns to her Midwest roots to reconnect with an ex-lover, who is now married with children. Brolin would play the ex-lover if he in fact is signed onto the film.

Reitman will direct from a script by his Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody with John Malkovich executive producing the film as well, according to our report from last week.

No production schedule was given for the film, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further developments on Young Adult as soon as we have more information.

Young Adult was released December 9th, 2011 and stars Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, Collette Wolfe, Jill Eikenberry, Richard Bekins, Mary Beth Hurt. The film is directed by Jason Reitman.

We reported just last week that McG could direct this film as a follow-up to his new project This Means War, but this new story indicates that since McG committed to This Means War, Universal still wants to move forward with the project and now Schwentke, "is back in the R.I.P.D. mix," according to the site's sources.

It was said that R.I.P.D. is a top priority for Universal and they want to start shooting the film next summer, when star Ryan Reynolds' schedule is open.

Schwentke would direct from a script by Clash of the Titans screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, based off Peter M. Lenkov's Dark Horse Comics graphic novel. The story revolves around a younger cop who is killed on duty and finds himself in the afterlife R.I.P.D., a group of slain cops who help capture unwilling souls.

R.I.P.D. comes to theaters July 19th, 2013 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Jeff Bridges, Devin Ratray, Mary-Louise Parker, Robert Knepper, Stephanie Szostak, James Hong. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke.

The site is reporting that Slade had never been confirmed to direct the film and it seems that Tarantino has taken on the project, re-writing Siavash Farahani's script. It was also said thatTarantino , "is being discussed (and this is a two-way discussion) and or already attached as the future director of The Shadow."

It seems that the project isn't, "even a huge priority over at Fox," according to the site. Our earlier report from March revealed that Fox took over the rights to the project from Sony.

Sources warn that this is at the stage of rumor, and nothing has been confirmed. Also, the age range listed for the character is 35 to 45, and Gordon-Levitt is 29 years old.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

It seems that the director is in talks to possibly direct producer Avi Lerner's (The Expendables) "long-developed tale of the mythological god (Hercules to the Romans, Heracles to the Greeks)." Lerner has been working on this movie for over three years. Not much is known about this new version at present .

Aiding this project is the fact that the new incarnation of Clash of the Titans brought in almost half a billion dollars around the world.

The character of Hercules has been in many foreign films. Disney made an animated movie about the character in the 1990s. He hasn't been seen in a live-action form since the mid-1980s, when Lou Ferrigno played the character in a film aptly titled, Hercules.

Sources say that Marvel has already put out an offer, and Joaquin Phoenix is taking time to mull over the offer and the bigger implications: the resurrection of the Hulk franchise, and Comic-Con.

In other X-Men: First Class news, U.K.'s The Daily Mail is reporting that Benjamin Walker is off the film. Here's what a source for the site had to say.

Oddly enough, while they are reporting that they are trying to recast the role, it was said that they might end up offering the role back to Walker. It was said that three actors tested for the role yesterday, but none of them worked out.

Mad Max: Fury Road comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones. The film is directed by George Miller.

The site is also reporting that the project is moving along smoothly and they are about to find a screenwriter for the project. Our earlier report revealed that Gotti Jr. was looking to tell his story through a documentary and a book along with a narrative feature film, which Stallone is apparently in talks for.

The film will reportedly revolve around Gotti Jr.'s life growing up in the mob family lead by his father and how he also became a leader of the mob. Gotti Jr. put his life of crime to an end in 1999.

Alice - a physicist - has created a hole, a doorway to nothingness, a vacuum, inside the laboratory where she and Philip work." Alice can think of nothing else but this place called "The Lack" and Philip can think of nothing else but Alice.

Steven Zaillian (screenwriter of American Gangster) is producing.

It looks like a bunch of TheOneRing.net's tipsters have put many bits and pieces together, and this has led to the conclusion that the sought after director could be the man to land this job.

Apparently, if this were to happen it could be a situation where Lord of the Rings Director Peter Jackson would mentor Blomkamp through this project. Jackson did produce District 9 and things worked out really well for that colloboration, right? TheOneRing.net cites everything from possible casting situations to how much Jackson and Blomkamp seem to like each other (when seen in person), as to why Blomkamp could get this gig. The final thought is that with the Comic-Con International in San Diego approaching perhaps something will be announced there.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released December 14th, 2012 and stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, Graham McTavish, William Kircher, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

No details on the secretive film were known at this time, and the site reports that only top-level studio executives were allowed to read the script and that Shyamalan's assistant was present to supervise the readings.

If this news is true, the two actors would join James Franco in the film, which is being directed by Rupert Wyatt. Rise of the Apes is being described as an origin story set in present day San Francisco. It will revolve around the aftermath of a scientist's genetic engineering gone wrong, and will depict the war between man and ape in a fight for supremacy.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released August 5th, 2011 and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Tyler Labine, Jamie Harris. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt.

However, this is just a rumor. Pajiba reports that they didn't get this information from their usual sources. They would only say that the director is "in the mix" and that the project is "in the early stages of development."

In addition to this, Fables is said to be one of the many properties at the top of the list at Warner Bros. There isn't a writer attached and a talked about "ABC mini-series based on the graphic novel series may present either a conflict or a launching point." This assumes that the project is in fact getting made for the small screen. It was apparently well over a year ago that the series was announced.

Lastly, Gregory Noveck (Jonah Hex) is said to be producing this project.

At present, Louis Leterrier's involvement has yet to be confirmed but the project comes to us from Universal Pictures and Mark Gordon Productions. George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) is said to be producing.

Yates would be taking over for Guillermo del Toro, who dropped out earlier this month, and plans to announce his next project at Comic-Con 2010. Guillermo del Toro is still collaborating on the script with Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens. And he will remain on board as a producer.

Our report last week indicated that Pike could be gearing up to play Emma Frost, but this new story reveals she's actually up for the role of Moira McTaggert, Professor X's assistant. The site reports that there is "strong interest" from the studio for both Pike and Heard, who would be playing a young Mystique.

Interestingly enough, the site listed that there was also strong interest in Michael Fassbender for Magneto, as we also reported last week, but apparently Fassbender is refusing to test for the role. Our earlier report also indicated that Fassbender was also up for a villain role in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot.

The site is also saying that Aaron Johnson is being eyed for an unspecified role in the film, which could put him in the same situation as Fassbender, since we also reported last week that Johnson could be a top contender to portray Peter Parker in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot.

This would certainly be a boon to the film, as Webb hopes to take the popular franchise in more of a Kick-Ass direction in terms of its action, look, and storyline. But nothing is certain when it comes to Sony's Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, as it seems Anton Yelchin is also yet another actor trying to throw his hat into the pile.

Of course, the fact that these names are being spoken in conjunction with Marc Webb's film means nothing at this point. Since it was announced that he was directing the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, Marc has cast quite a large net, canvassing all options in filling the shoes left by Tobey Maguire. The only obvious thing tying all of these actors together is that none of them look like Tobey Maguire, and that might be a very good thing for both the production and its eager fans.

The Lizard becomes the alter-ego of the one-armed professor Dr. Curt Connors, a character played by Dylan Baker in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, although Baker never transformed into the villain in those films.

Apparently, this sort of talk continued and the site now says that Levitt is being considered by Nolan for the part.

The site also reports that Pike was spotted carrying a Emma Frost comic book as well.

The site reported that they have, "received repeated reports" that Bell had been chosen to play Peter Parker.

The initial rumor was that Renner might appear as a cameo in Thor and reprise his role in The Avengers. At the time, Renner was considering roles in both Battleship and an untitled Paul Thomas Anderson film. It was said that Renner never signed on to Battleship and the Anderson project has been stalled by financing.

Now it was said that if Renner signs on to The Avengers, he could still appear in the Anderson film if the film starts up again.

Marvel didn't officially confirm the story as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on this new story as soon as we have more information.

Our initial report indicated that Warner had set a September 23, 2011 release date for the film and it was said that the studio wanted shooting to start by this fall. It seems that Fraser could be out because he wanted to make the film with the director of the first Journey to the Center of the Earth, Eric Brevig and he might not be available due to his work on the film Yogi Bear. If Fraser were to leave the series, the sequel would focus on Josh Hutcherson, who starred in the first film as the nephew of Fraser's character, Professor Trevor Anderson.

It was said that the sequel would be shot in 3D, like the original film and Peyton's upcoming film, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, which is due out on July 30, was shot in 2D and converted to 3D in post-production. The site did also indicate that their sources said Fraser, "could still possibly" return to the film but it seemed "unlikely."

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island was released February 10th, 2012 and stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Luis Guzmán, Vanessa Hudgens, Kristin Davis, Anna Colwell, Stephen Caudill. The film is directed by Brad Peyton.

At present there are no details about her character. As for Huntington-Whiteley, aside from Victoria Secret, she is also Jason Statham's girlfriend.

As far as her acting resume, this is non-existent (except for playing herself on Victoria Secret Fashion Shows). However, Megan Fox was an unknown when Michael Bay cast her in the first Transformers film so there could actually be something to this story.

It seems that with all the money that it will cost to bring this film to the big screen, Fox's replacement will be announced by DreamWorks/Paramount sooner rather than later.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon was released June 29th, 2011 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

Executives from Time Warner Cable Inc. recently made the initial pitch to the Hollywood studios for what is being called "home theater on demand." The main scenario being talked about would have consumers watch a movie at home only 30 days after its theatrical release. However, for this privilege they would have to pay $20 to $30 a film.

There are rumblings that a bunch of studios could sign on to a version of this proposal as soon as the fall. This would make the movies available on such a system by the end of the year or early 2011.

The studios who have looked over the proposal are Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros., Walt Disney Co.'s Disney Studios, General Electric Co.'s Universal Pictures, Sony Corp.'s Sony Pictures, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures and News Corp.'s Twentieth Century Fox.

As usual, this plan could potentially be "disruptive for the movie business, particularly theater owners." This would overhaul the business model that has been in place for studios and exhibitors for years. This could also call into question cable channels that presently have deals with movie studios.

Also, Twentieth Century Fox Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos has made it clear "that while his studio is exploring premium V.O.D. offerings, it is contemplating making movies available only during the period after they leave theaters."

Lastly, according to a source, Paramount Pictures doesn't appear likely buy in to this new proposal.

The site is reporting that Arterton has already had discussions with director Michael Bay for the role and that other potential replacements could be model/actresses Miranda Kerr, Brooklyn Decker and Bar Rafaeli.

It was said that Rafaeli and Kerr had been brought in to read for the role and that Bay, "will begin casting immediately" for the role.

It was said that NBC and TNT have set up meetings to discuss the possibility of the show moving to the cable network. The series fell just one season shy of breaking Gunsmoke's record of longest-running drama series, with both shows tied at 20 seasons.

It was said that a deal could be a "longshot" though, with the network just picking up another show canceled by Southland along with picking up the Untitled Conan O'Brien Late Night Show as well. However, the Turner network did try to acquire the Law & Order back in 2007 and it was said that NBC is crunching numbers to try and make a deal work with TNT.

The site called the move "surprising" since the network had indicated they would pick the show up and break the record, but now with their strong development slate mostly in place for the upcoming season, it seems they have decided to bring the show to an end.

Original Story: We reported a month ago that director Bryan Singer was not going to be directing an upcoming superhero film and now it seems that Fox has zeroed in on their top candidate to replace Singer. Deadline New York is reporting that Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn is the leading studio choice to direct X-Men: First Class.

The site reports that negotiations have been going on all week and it seems that Vaughn beat out other directors such as Daniel Espinosa (Snabba Cash), Rupert Sanders (The Low Dweller) and Jonathan Mostow (Surrogates).

Interestingly enough, Vaughn was set to direct Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand before leaving the project. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any new developments on X-Men: First Class as soon as we have more information.

X-Men: First Class was released June 3rd, 2011 and stars James McAvoy, Laurence Belcher, Michael Fassbender, Bill Milner, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Beth Goddard. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The site didn't know what role Jones was up for, but JoBlo has speculated that Jones might be up for the part of General Chester Phillips, who recruits Chris Evans's Steve Rogers and trains him in the Super Soldier program.

The site reports that both the studio and director Timur Bekmambetov were interested in Stewart, who would play a new assassin in the Fraternity. It was said that, while an official offer to Stewart hasn't been made, she has met with Bekmambetov at least once.

While Jolie's character died in the original film, it was said they were looking at bringing her back in the sequel, until she reportedly pulled out of the film. It was also said that Stewart appearing in Wanted 2, "remains a slim possibility." It was said that Bekmambetov was looking to shoot the film in August, while Stewart's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn could start filming as early as October.

The only other thing the tweet mentioned was that Mitchell Kapner had written the script. CHUD dug a little deeper and discovered that the project was actually retitled from Kapner's original project, Brick, which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz told from the Wizard's perspective, showing how he came to be the powerful Wizard.

The project was originally set up for producer Joe Roth at Disney, but it's unclear whether both the studio and producer were still involved. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further news surrounding this new project as soon as we have more information.

The Wizard of Oz was released August 15th, 1939 and stars Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley, Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charley Grapewin. The film is directed by Victor Fleming, Mervyn LeRoy, Richard Thorpe, King Vidor.

Based on the few facts that Hamill has let slip, The Wrap believes the project surrounds the comic miniseries The Black Pearl.

The story of The Black Pearl, Hamill told the New York Daily News a while back, is "a crime thriller, fairly raw in terms of violence about tabloid journalism and sensationalism and all the things that thrillers come from."

The official announcement should come next month, in France.

Previously, Mike Myers had been attached to star in the film and, while the site believes that Myers is off the project, it isn't officially known whether or not he is still attached. Screenwriter Peter Morgan is the latest writer attached to the film and the new version features the title character as a shy owner of a retail mega-store who secretly harbors the desire to become a hero. The previous version featured Mitty as a fiction writer.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty comes to theaters December 25th, 2013 and stars Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Shirley MacLaine, Kathryn Hahn, Patton Oswalt, Terence Bernie Hines. The film is directed by Ben Stiller.

Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the script for the film, which is being directed by Joe Johnston. It wasn't quite clear what the extent of Whedon's potential script polish could be, but it was also said that Whedon was polishing Zak Penn's script for The Avengers as well.
